Higher Education in Bihar
In the present times are a good number of colleges and other higher education institutions in the Indian state of Bihar. However most of the colleges in Bihar do not maintain good academic standards. This has resulted in a massive migration of students from Bihar to other states for higher education at the graduation level. There is an urgent requirement for better maintained colleges in Bihar to meet the demand for higher education in the state.
As per the Census of India 2001, the literacy rate of the male population in Bihar was recorded at 60.32%, which is almost double compared to the female literacy, which was 33.57%.
