Mount Carmel College Bangalore

Mount Carmel College is the first women’s college of Karnataka and seeks to make its students agents of transformation and development at different stages of life. Bangalore Mount Carmel College began its noble journey on 7th July 1948 with just fifty students. Its conviction of empowering women through education has remained steadfast and today it has established itself as one of the premier institutes providing women’s education in India.

Apart from all other necessary facilities the college has a counseling center and two placement cells. MCC also has 29 clubs and associations that conduct various competitions among students. Students are free to be members of any or all the clubs.

Admission to Mount Carmel College

The admission forms for the Pre University courses in Mount Carmel is made available on the day of the announcement of the Karnataka SSLC or ICSE results whichever is earlier. The admission forms for the BA/B.Sc./ B. Com is made available on the day of the announcement of the Karnataka PUC, or ICSE 12th standard results.

The and MCA admission forms will be available on the day the Bangalore University 3rd year results are declared. The PGBDA and PGDMIS courses are made available from the first week of January. Candidates need to enclose a photocopy of the statement of marks of the last exam passed. If selected for the interview one needs to bring two stamp size photograph, original marks card along with two photocopies, original transfer certificate, certificate of good conduct, Migration certificate if the candidate is not a Karnataka SSLC/PUC/ Degree student, Original and three copies of caste certificate for SC/ST and BT students.

The foreign students should bring original Provisional Certificate from The Director, Pre University Board, palace road, Bangalore- 560052 (for PU courses) or the Registrar, Bangalore University Janabharathi, Bangalore-560056.

Courses at Mount Carmel College

Mount Carmel College offers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of business Management and M.A. in Economics. Moreover Mount Carmel also offers special degree courses in communicative English (B.A), Nutrition and Dietetics (NDCZ) (B.Sc.), Fashion and apparel design (FAD), B.Com degree in travel and tourism (BMTT).

The alumni of Mount Carmel College hold distinctive positions in all walks of life. Some of them are Margaret Alva (Former MP), Gita Aravamudan (Bangalore’s first woman reporter) and Brinda Charry (Author).
