Admission procedure for Naval College of Engineering
The entrance exam is held once in every year. The candidates who qualify this entrance exam are called for a SSB Interview and then for a personality test. The exam is usually organized during July to October.
The candidate called for a SSB interview would face Individual Tasks, Group Tasks, Psychological Tests, Group Discussions and Interview. If you only qualify in the Intelligence Test, then only you can take part in the other subsequent tests. Finally the candidate is selected on the basis on his over all performance.
Finally the candidates who are selected by the SSB have to undergo medical examination. The medically fit candidates have to take part in Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy at Goa for about 6 months and then undergo 4 years Engineering Course at the Naval College of Engineering at Lonavala. The B. Tech degree to the students is given by the Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Eligibility criteria for Naval College of Engineering
The candidates who wish to take admission in this college should be unmarried. One should not be less than 16 1/2 years and not more than 19 years of age as on the date of examination.
The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination with an aggregate of at least 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The student should also have secured minimum 55% in their English examination at 10+2.
The candidate should be at least 157 cm with appropriate weight and proportionate chest with 5 cm expansion. One should have good eye sight.
