The education of women in India may not have been very bright in the recent past, but with the growing globalization and the efforts of the central and the state governments, women’s education has improved in the country. The marriageable age for women has been increased and the compulsory education for all children irrespective of their genders has also been introduced by the government of India, thus raising the percentage of literate women in the country. The phenomenon has also led to the rise of women’s college in India. A woman’s college admits only females in the variety of courses and departments that the college has.
