Exams in India

The system of education in India is such that all the schools are affiliated to boards that ascertain a student’s ability to go to the next level only after a board examination especially in the 10th and 12th grades. These exams are conducted to help students identify inclinations, aptitudes and interest towards a particular stream of study; Science, Humanities or Commerce. Basic instruction in these subjects prepares students for other examinations that allow them to get into undergraduate courses of study.

Besides entrance examinations for entry into institutions offering undergraduate and post graduate courses there are a hoard of entrance examinations for professional courses.

Besides the above mentioned, there are a number of entrance examinations for entry into certain government services.
