Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Exam – AFMC 2012 is a national level test, conducted to admit students in MBBS course in the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.

Application Mode Application process for admission to MBBS course is completely online. Candidates need to download prospectus and admission form online. All prospective candidates need to have a valid email id. Completed forms along with required examination fee need to be sent to the following address.

Eligibility Criteria The minimum academic qualification required for MBBS aspirants is, completion of XII board examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (in first attempt only). Candidates appearing in the final XIIth board examination are also eligible to apply. The minimum required marks in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) should be 60%. The applicants should not score less than 50% in English and individual science subjects. Applicants also need to pass Xth board examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

The minimum age of the candidates should be 17 years as on 31st December of the applying year. The upper age limit of the candidates should be less than 22 years. The upper age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to SC, ST or OBC categories. Candidates undergoing Bachelor of Science degree are also eligible to apply, provided they are of 24 years on the year of application. All applicants need to be Indian citizens. Candidates, who have migrated from neighboring countries like Bhutan, Nepal, and Pakistan, with an intention to permanently reside in India, are also eligible to apply. Candidates need to be physically fit. Married candidates are not eligible for the course.

[The candidates are not allowed to marry before completion of the course. All the expenses including educational, living, accommodation, food, stationery, annual transport to hometown, are provided by the government of India. However, at the time of admission candidates need to give a written bond that upon completion of the course, they will serve in the Armed Forces for at least 7 years; failing which the candidate will have to pay a penalty of INR 15 lakhs. Total number of seats is 130, of which 25 girls in maximum will be admitted.]

Syllabus

 

The syllabus of the Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Exam – AFMC 2012 is as follows:

** For each wrong answer, there will be negative marking. The syllabus for the entrance examination is based on the one followed by senior secondary (XI and XII) classes as prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Candidates qualifying in the written examination will have to appear in personal interview in June. Short listed candidates will also have to qualify in medical test.

Required Medical Standards

  1. Candidates should be in good mental and physical health
  2. There should not be impediment of speech
  3. There should not be any serious deformity, scoliosis, mal-developments, spinal bifida, and other such skeletal deformities
  4. There should not be any organic or functional disease of blood vessels and heart
  5. Candidates should not have any type of kidney-related, fistula, piles or skin related disease
  6. There should not be any history of chronic diseases
  7. No squint in the eye
  8. No history of epilepsy, congenital or latent STD, or any other psychiatric or mental disorder
  9. No abnormality of digestive system, spleen or liver

  • Minimum color vision standard needs to be CP-3 (Defective Safe).

  • No Candidates need to have audio capability of hearing a forced whisper at a distance of 20 feet with each ear.
