GMAT – Graduate Management Admission Test

The Graduate Management Admission Test, also known as GMAT is a competitive examination that is required by all the institutes that offer MBA Programs. It is a 3.5 hours computer adaptive test that aims to evaluate the position of a student regarding his/her basic and intermediate math skills, familiarity with grammar, logical reasoning, analytical skills and reading.

Eligibility Criteria for GMAT:

As far as the rules and regulations for GMAT is concerned, there are no eligibility criteria to talk of. Anyone can take this test and the scores will be considered valid for 5 years. There are a host of universities that accept scores that are 5 years old but to be on the safer side, it is recommended that the scores are not older than a couple of years.

How to interpret your GMAT Scores:

The minimum that a student can score in his GMAT examinations is 200 and the maximum is 800. Though there are very few people who manage to get either of the two, a score within a range of 400 to 600 can be considered as safe. The average score that students usually get is a 550.

Steps of Registration for GMAT: There are a few steps that you need to follow in order to complete your registration process for the GMAT examinations.

Create a log in id: A login id should be created with a password at which is the official registration site for the GMAT examinations. Candidates must use their real name and be as official in their approach as possible.

Choose your test center: A test center that is nearest to the residence of the students must be chosen. After logging in with the id, the applicant will be automatically led to the test center.

Exam Date: In case the candidate is employed in a company, he/she has to take care that the date they choose suits both them and the company. Usually working people choose Saturdays as GMAT examinations do not take place on Sundays.

Scheduling the Appointment: After the test dates for the GMAT exam has been secured, the applicant will be led to a separate page that will require him/her to fill in their personal details. This is where they have to make their payments and that can be done through a variety of modes like debit cards, credit cards, personal check, cashier’s check and money order.
