Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is accredited as the best university of India by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). JNU has been awarded 3.9 grades out of 4 by NAAC. This university has an intellectually rich heritage and educational ambience. It was established in the year 1969 and was named after the first prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru.

Entrance Exam of Different Schools, Disciplines and Centers

Jawaharlal Nehru University has 10 schools and 4 centers of education. The ten schools of JNU belong to different educational streams and they are Social Sciences, Arts and Aesthetics, International Studies, Environmental Sciences, Language Literature and Culture Studies, Biotechnology, Physical Sciences, Computational and Integrative Sciences, Computer and Systems Sciences and Life Sciences. Besides these schools, there are four centers and they are Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Special Centre for Nanoscience, Special Centre for Molecular Medicine and Special Centre for Sanskrit Studies.

Entrance Examination Date

Entrance examination is conducted in these schools and centers of JNU every year. Examinations at the different departments are generally conducted in the month of May every year. Issuance and closing of the admission forms of various exams take place during February–March.

Application Forms & Process

A student who is interested to join this renowned university should fill up the application form first by visiting their official site. Academic and basic details (Name, Address, Date of Birth, Contact Number, Education Discipline and many more) of the candidate should be filled up correctly. Then he or she should get a printout of E-Deposit slip of SBI by logging into the JNU website. After this, the concerned applicant has to visit a SBI branch and deposit the required application fees to complete the application process.

Entrance Exam Fees

A candidate can appear in entrance examinations of 3 fields of study. Entrance examination fees structure is given below:

• B.A. (Hons.) or Part Time Programs – Entrance exam fee of a general candidate (including OBC) is Rs. 130, Rs. 250 and Rs. 360 for one, two and three choices respectively. In case of the reserved categories, the entrance examination fees are Rs. 65, Rs. 125 and Rs. 180 respectively.
• M.Sc., M.A., M.Phil./Ph.D./M.Tech./Pre-Ph.D./MPH, M.C.A. - Entrance exam fee of a general candidate (including OBC) is Rs. 220, Rs. Rs. 430 and Rs. 600 for one, two and three choices respectively. . In case of the reserved categories, the entrance examination fees are Rs. 110, Rs. 215 and Rs. 300 respectively.
