Bangalore University

One of the best universities in India, Bangalore University was established in the year 1886, during the British rule, as Central College. Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB)

Indian Institute of Science (IISc)

Founded in the year 1909, under the leadership of Jamshedji Tata, Indian Institute of Science is a multidisciplinary research institute. National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS)

NIMHANS is a deemed university (since 1994) that is recognized as a “medical institute of national importance” by the Government of India. Established in the year 1974, as a result of the merging of the mental hospital and the All India Institute of Mental Health, this autonomous institution in Bangalore is funded by the central government. NIMHANS offers undergraduate, post graduate degrees, diplomas and certificate programs across 21 departments. Its psychiatry department provides services and training in the areas of de-addicition, tobacco cessation, geriatric, metabolic, child, prenatal and perinatal psychiatry.

National Law School of India University (NLSIU)

National Law School of India University is arguably the best law university in India. Founded in the year 1987, NLSIU, it offers full time integrated undergraduate and post graduate, and part time distance learning courses in law and related fields. It is spread across 18 acres and houses a full residential campus. The university has produced some of the best advocates and judges in the country. To pursue a full time program in this institution you will need to sit for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted throughout the country every year.

National Center for Biological Sciences (NCBS)

Established in the year 1992, the National Center for Biological Sciences is a premier research institute in the country. It deals with research in varied areas of biology including stem cell, brain, ecology, animal and plant behavior and theoretical biology. This research institute is part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and is funded by the Indian Government. Central Power Research Institute (CPRI)

The Central Power Research Institute, headquartered in Bangalore was started in the year 1960 by the Indian Government to aid the Ministry of Power. It is now an autonomous research institute under the ministry, running several research and development programs. The institute also provides testing services, technical support and consulting to the electrical and power industry of India.
