Higher education in New Zealand, or education received through colleges and universities is referred to as tertiary education. Colleges in New Zealand can be divided into the categories of public and private institutes. There are distinct higher education study institutes in the country; so there are colleges which provide specialized education in the fields of medicine, technology, law or business. Over the last three decades, most colleges in New Zealand have consolidated with the universities they were affiliated to.
College education in New Zealand is very advanced; the latest technology and curriculum is followed in order to attract resident and international students. Thousands of foreign students travel to New Zealand every academic year to take admission in the country’s colleges because higher education institutes in the country pay special attention to imparting professional courses that will directly gain for the students a job in their preferred sectors of the economy.
The quality of education given in the public and private colleges of New Zealand varies due to difference in availability of resources. Private colleges in the country are well equipped and can provide professional training required for work during the academic years itself.
