About Residential Schools
Residential schools are also known as boarding schools. These are the schools where students live on the campus premises. These schools may or may not have day scholars. If the residential school is co-educational there are separate arrangements for accommodation.
Usually the hostel warden takes care of the students. Residential schools offer a whole range of facilities for students. Few of them include spacious playgrounds, outdoor sports arena, indoor games, and lessons in arts and crafts, dance and music, debate, extempore speeches, piano, flute, and keyboard classes. Most of the residential schools in India require registered students to appear for a written test.
Registered students are the ones that have submitted the completed application form for admission to the school authorities. Enrollment is based on the marks obtained in the written admission test followed by a personal interview with the child and parents.
