South Point High School, Kolkata is one of the top schools in India. It is the senior section of the institute, offering education from classes VI to XII. In 2010-2011, 10 pupils of this institute achieved more than 90% in Madhyamik examination and in the same year 21 students achieved more than 90% in Higher Secondary examination. The institute aims to provide quality education along with social, cultural and mental development of students. Along with academic excellence, the students, who proudly refer themselves as Pointers, have shown creative thoughts and social responsibilities in various fields of work. The school has its own canteen, book shop, medical room, auditorium, cyber zone, laboratories, library, and playroom. The school (consisting of both junior and senior sections) made an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records in 1984, for being the largest educational institute in the world and has retained this rare distinction till 1992.

Admission Procedure New session VI begins on 1st week of February. Admission to class VI to VIII is subject to availability of seats. Students have to qualify in an admission test. At the time of admission the report card / mark sheet of previous school along with birth certificate and transfer certificate need to be produced in original.

Admission to class XI is for candidates who have cleared Madhyamik Pariksha (Xth board examination) or equivalent.

The school offers admission to class XI under both West Bengal and Central boards. However, the latter (CBSE) board admission is only for Science stream students. CBSE affiliated classes are available only for morning section.

Fee Structure Expenses for students under WBBSE:

  • Admission fee – INR 10,000 (one time)
  • Caution money – INR 6,000 (refundable when student leaves the school)
  • Annual charges (VI to X) – INR 8,000 per year, payable in 3 installments in February, June and October

  • Day Section – 8.55 a.m. to 5.25 p.m.
