In addition, some institutions have also been awarded the permission to grant degrees on an autonomous basis and are often referred to as autonomous organizations. UGC also offers recognition to Indian Universities through NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). On successful completion of the courses, the universities and institutes also offer placement assistance to the students.
