Admission Procedure/Eligibility Criteria | Undergraduate Courses:
The eligibility criterion for the 4-year undergraduate courses is completing higher secondary (10+2) with physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects. Eligible candidates need to qualify in an All India Entrance Examination, conducted by the IIST, known as ISAT. Research Programs: Ph.D: Applicants need to have a first class masters degree in the relevant subject. However, admission is also offered to candidates having outstanding performance in bachelor of engineering program, along with an aptitude for research. Candidates who have master’s degree in basic humanities or science need to be NET qualified. On the basis of academic records, National Eligibility Test, and research experience. Candidates have to qualify in a written examination followed by a personal interview. The upper age limit for general category candidates is 28 years. Candidates of special categories have age relaxation as per the Government of India rules. Post Doctoral Fellowship Program: Admission to this program is offered to candidates having Ph.D in the relevant subject along with a first class masters degree. The upper age limit is 31 years for candidates belonging to general category. Applicants can pursue postdoctoral research in the following areas: Star Formation Delay Tolerant Networking Theoretical Molecular Physics Hyper spectral Remote Sensing Development of Electro active polymers for space applications Shortlisted candidates need to present a seminar on the research topic, followed by discussion. As per recommendation of a specialist committee, the candidates will be selected. |
Fellowship | Research Programs:
(Ph.D) on the basis of their qualifications, selected candidates for Ph.D programs will receive fellowship of INR 16,000 to INR 18,000 for the first 2 years. After completion of 2 years, on the basis of their performance, the fellowship amount may get increased to INR 18,000 to INR 20,000. (Postdoctoral) Selected candidates will receive fellowship of INR 40,000 |
