A land famous for its religious influence, Indo-Islamic culture, myths as well as art and crafts, Uttar Pradesh is located in the northern part of India. Types of Universities in Uttar Pradesh:
Besides the universities such as Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University and Bundelkhand University in Jhansi offering UG, PG, doctoral and diploma programs in various streams, there are universities specializing in specific fields of study. Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology and Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology are such specialized universities, which are known across the region.
In Uttar Pradesh, you will also come across universities which offer specialized education in languages and culture such as Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi and Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Varanasi.
This state also has excellent national institutes in the likes of Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Izatnagar that offer higher education in specialized fields.
Mode of education & Infrastructure of Universities:
Some UP universities are residential in nature and impart education from their own campuses while others also have colleges affiliated to the universities apart from the campuses. At several UP universities including Aligarh Muslim University, you can avail of distance learning programs apart from the regular courses. However, U. P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University in Allahabad conducts academic programs entirely through the mode of distance learning and has study centers across the state.
