The Birsa Institute of Technology, Sindri was previously known as the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and was initially set up in Patna. The institute shifted to its new campus in the year 1950 and is regulated by the Department of Science and Technology of the Govt. of Jharkhand, Ranchi. Birsa Institute of Technology, Sindri offers residential facilities to its students, teachers and non-teaching staff.

Admission Procedure The admission of the candidates in the B.Tech course is dependent upon their performance in the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination. M.Tech admissions happen after the candidates appear for a written examination and an interview session that is conducted by the institute itself.
